Have you lost your EU / EEA / Swiss citizen residence permit or a family member who was EU / EEA / Swiss citizen? The following requirements for this situation are optional if you have citizenship of an EU country. However, if it is not the case and you come from a non-European country, the following steps are compulsory.
What are the procedures?
Coming from EUrope oR switzerland
The process is not compulsory.
Go to the prefecture or sub-prefecture closest to your address to request a duplicate of your residence permit.
Documents required :
- Statement on the honor of losing your permit,
- Your valid identification document or passport,
- 1 copy of your lost residence permit,
- Indication of where you live (provided by any documented proof),
- 1 passport photo (click here to see the requirements),
- Proof of payment of the fee (requested at the time of delivery of the permit).
You don’t have to pay for the duplicate of your residence permit.
Coming from outside Europe
The process is compulsory.
Go to the prefecture or sub-prefecture closest to your address to request a duplicate of your residence permit.
Documents required :
- Statement on the honor of losing your permit,
- Your valid identification document or passport,
- Extract of marriage certificate or certificate of non-dissolution of the partnership or certificate of cohabitation, depending on your situation at the time of the request (marriage, partnership or cohabitation),
- 1 copy of your lost residence permit,
- Indication of where you live (provided by any documented proof),
- 1 passport photo (click here to see the requirements),
- Proof of payment of the fee (requested at the time of delivery of the permit).
